Packing make up is the hardest thing for me. I never know what I will need. Here are my tips for travel make up.
1. Don't pack everything
I used to pack a lot of make up and end up not wearing anything but probably 2 products. Pack the things you use everyday. If you wear a lot a make up each day, pick items that are must haves.
2. Travel sizes
Recently, more and more companies are coming out with travels sizes. I love this idea for solo many reasons. My first reason is, their less expensive!!! I am not someone that will spend $30+ on one product. So I love smaller sizes for the less expensive. Second, smaller is better! I love smaller things because they are easier to travel. Smaller sizes definitely save your make up bag more room to fill with your favorite things. Third, if a product has been raved about and you really want to try it, but it's a little more than you'd like to spend, travel sizes are your answer. Yes, they are smaller but if you do not like the product after using it, you won't feel very guilty for splurging.
3. Z Palettes
I love love love this idea for traveling. Instead of taking a bunch of different eyeshadows, you can put them all in the z palette and go. If you do not know what a Z Palette is let me explain. So basically its a "make your own palette" you pick depotted eyeshadows, blushes, concealers, etc. and you put them all into your designed palette. Mac used to have one where there were no tray to hold them and they were just magnetic, and depending on the size of the product you could fit more than the now tray says. Which for Mac theres like a 15, 30 (maybe) and 100. But I found a less expensive place that has already depotted eyeshadows and Z Palettes with the tray. COASTAL SCENTS! Oh my goodness this place literally is the least expensive make up site ever. The depotted eyeshadows are like $1.95 each and they have every color imaginable. So I suggest that site. Also Sephora sells Z palettes but they are black and white striped and cost I believe around $20.
4. Take what you know works for you
Take the make up you know works for you. If you are going to be taking a lot of pictures or need a long wearing foundation, accommodate your needs of where you are traveling. Don't take make up you haven't tried a while and aren't sure if it works for you. Just to be safe.
5. Make sure everything is sealed for safe travels!
The one thing I do when I travel is I tape the lids shut. This is more for shampoo or anything that could possibly spill out. I know its not the most convenient way to do it but it definitely works. Try to keep the lids to anything with a pumper. It saves soooo much hassle.
Hope I helped y'all with traveling! xoxoxoxoxo
